National Headlines

You should click on that. It's the bevy of national news headlines my school's newspaper, the Shasta High Volcano, made after the last issue of the year.
Why did it make national headlines? Click and see.
A word about the editor of the newspaper and the kid who wrote the article: I've gone to school with this guy for four years. He's brilliant(4.19 GPA, 2100 SAT) and totally ballsy. The boy featured in the offensive picture? The same.
Personally, I don't think the form of protest they're talking about is the most effective, but it is a protected right. I also think the way they went about it wasn't the best. But the point is, they had a right to do it. The newspaper should never have been dropped for the article, which you'll notice none of the newspapers reference or even quote.
